Removing Decals From Caravan. We used a handheld steamer to remove the decals from our trailer. We have existing libraries of most makes and models including jayco, coromal, avan, retreat, baroma, millard and viscount. Cheap grahics and decals used by many caravan manufactures have little thought put into the vinyl type and adhesive used so meths will remove, but the better caravan or large caravan builders use high quaity cast vinyl or even foiled laminated films and permanent adhesives which will last a long time and subsequently petroleum based solvents are required. After you remove the decals with a hairdryer or what ever, use a plastic spatula as it wont gouge the paint !, i very carefully remove the adhesive with meths, or if you are really careful a spot of cellulose thinner on a soft cloth making sure not to remove the paint !!! Warming a decal up is the first thing to do if you want to get it off easily.

You could warm the decal up by using a hairdryer, steamer, a heat gun etc. Steps to remove the adhesive: If you do not have any of the above equipment, you could simply park your rv under direct sunlight. In this video, wade weiss from wade maid, demonstrates how to rejuvenate your dull and oxidized gel coat by hand. To use both options mentioned above simply do the following.
